Fataneh - Khaater Khaah (Transliteration)

Persian

Khaater Khaah

The Lover

Versions: #1#2
You'll go nowhere by just making a winking,

I know that you're well-known everywhere,
Your look's strangely like an arrow springing out of a bow,
I know that your fame among the folk,
Is as widespread as a galaxy,
Go and call the town out of love,
Make all the world upside down,
You know that with a look, one can do nothing,
Throw out me and love from your mind,
Throw out me and love from your mind,

You are my lover but,
Any door you always knock at, it isn't opened,
Go and overcome the Seven Labours of Rostam (a sequence of staged obstacles)*,
You'll go nowhere by just a winking,

You say: "My patience is over",
The sunset's on the roof,
I say once again like in the past: "Your life's wasted",
Being as a lover's enough anymore,
I know you'll get frustrated,
You'd better find a solution,
For a broken heart,
Ah, for a broken heart,

You are my lover but,
Any door you always knock at, it isn't opened,
Go and overcome the Seven Labours (staged obstacles) of Rostam,
You'll go nowhere by just making a winking,

I know that you're well-known everywhere,
Your look's strangely like an arrow springing out of a bow,
I know that your fame among the folk,
Is as widespread as a galaxy,
Go and call the town out of love,
Make all the world upside down,
You know that with a look, one can do nothing,
Throw out me and love from your mind,
Throw out me and love from your mind,

You are my lover but,
Any door you always knock at, it isn't opened,
Go and overcome the Seven Labours (staged obstacles) of Rostam,
You'll go nowhere by just making a winking.

Author's comments:

* The Seven Labours of Rostam (a sequence of staged obstacles) is a famous Persian myth narrated by the renown Persian epic poet Abu ʾl-Qasim Ferdowsi Tusi, or Ferdowsi, in his famous epic poem book called Shahnameh (The Book of Kings).

The Seven Labours of Rostam, or Haft-Khan-e-Rostam,(Persian: هفت خوان رستم), are a series of acts carried out by the greatest of the Iranian heroes, Rostam, also romanized as Rustam. The story of Haftkhan was retold by Ferdowsi in his epic poem, Shahnama. In his labors, Rostam was often accompanied only by his horse, Rakhsh. In two of his labors, he was also accompanied by a champion, Olad.
